We have been keeping busy here at Heart to Home. We have fully decorated the homes for Easter. We have also been busy with Easter crafts, and preparing the patios, decks and gardens for summer. We are eagerly waiting for the first flowers to start pushing up from our flower beds and for the warm sunshine on our faces! Happy Easter!

We enjoyed celebrating the month of love here at Heart to Home. We had special music concerts from Joanne Bolles, valentine's arts and crafts and lots of visitors. 

Reflecting back on 2016 has been bitter sweet here at Heart to Home. We were fortunate to care for some remarkable individuals and feel truly blessed to serve older adults in our community. We also take this time of year to reflect; to remember the loved ones who have passed away, and to cherish the new memories we are able to make. Thank you to everyone who continues to share and support our vision, and who work tirelessly to help those in need. Wishing you all many blessing in the new year ahead!

We had so much fun on Halloween this year. We had a costume parade at each home where staff and their children or fur-children met each resident in costume. The residents passed out candy to the children and there were big smiles all around. Such a fun day for everyone! We are having a ball this fall at Heart to Home. We've had a few fun rounds of ping pong, enjoyed the last few rays of sunshine and had lots of birthday celebrations!

What better way to enjoy the summer than with some drippy ice cream from an ice cream truck? We invited our friends from Pink Cow Ice Cream to stop at each of our houses for a visit. It completely ruined our appetite for lunch, but was TOTALLY worth it!

We had so much fun here at Heart to Home this month. We celebrated two wonderful birthdays and had a fun Wizard of OZ themed night... Complete with a visit from Toto (therapy dog) while watching the original Wizard of OZ movie. Here are a few photos from the fun events. Enjoy!

We like to keep busy at Heart to Home. On this special day we worked in the kitchen baking a fresh loaf of banana bread followed by an arts and crafts activity. The arts and crafts activity was 4th of July themed to help celebrate this fun holiday. Smiles all around!

After a hot and humid weekend we were a bit worried how our group outing to the Minnesota Zoo would work out, but the weather was perfect! After getting all the residents up and ready for the big outing we hit the road to the Minnesota Zoo in Apple Valley, Minnesota. We arrived in the mid-morning and everyone was eager to see the Minnesota Zoo. For some residents this was their first visit and for most others this was their first visit in many years. We were joined by a group of volunteer nursing students and Josh's two older children Charlie and Oliver. The residents enjoyed seeing all of the sights, sounds and attractions at the zoo. The favorite part for most everyone was seeing all of the children running around with smiles on their faces and no cares in the world... Ah, to be a kid again... It was a wonderful trip and we look forward to making it back soon!

We had a fun Easter celebration here at Heart to Home. We started the night before by having staff hide Easter eggs throughout the homes. Then on Easter morning the residents and daytime staff had a fun Easter egg hunt throughout the homes. A fun activity to get us moving and to bring back those cherished childhood memories. We  had lots of smiles and a few too many pieces of chocolate!
